After graduating in 1977, he started his career at SAAB-Car division and held several roles and responsibilities at various levels for over 15 years. In 1992 he joined Scania, and was appointed Regional Sales Director, Nordic and Eastern Region Europe in 1996. Anders took on the challenge to develop Scania distributorship concept in Europe as Managing Director, Scania Czech Republic and Slovakia in 2000, and later as Managing Director of Scania in Netherlands and the BeNeLux Business Unit between 2004 and 2008. | GÖRAN K HANSSON is Professor of Cardiovascular Research at Karolinska Institute and works in the Department of Medicine and the Center for Molecular Medicine at Karolinska University Hospital. Dr Hansson´s research deals with mechanisms of atherosclerosis, the disease that causes myocardial infarction and stroke. He has discovered that inflammation plays a major role in atherosclerosis, and is currently working on prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Dr Hansson is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nobel Foundation and a member of the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institute. From 1 July 2015, he will be the Permanent Secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He is a member of Academia Europaea and has received several awards for his contributions to medicine. |
