Breakfast Seminar with Ravi Venkatesan
The breakfast seminar with Ravi Venkatesan was a very interesting event. A 200-strong audience braved the early morning chill to hear Mr. Venkatesan speak about the long term potential of the Indian economy. Drawing on his vast experience, he gave suggestions on how to “conquer the chaos” and succeed in the Indian market. He also spoke about how the principles from operating in a market like India could help a company succeed in other markets, both emerging and established.
In her opening remarks, Ambassador Banashri Bose Harrison gave an overview of the Indian economy and argued that the recent relative decline in which the growth rate was only temporary. According to her, given the sound macroeconomic fundamentals, the FDI-friendly policies, the expanding market and the strong human resource and entrepreneurship base, the Indian economy was bound to recover its teady growth trajectory of 8-9%.
Mr. Venkatesan’s presentation was followed by an analysis by Professor Örjan Sjöberg of the key questions and areas discussed in Mr. Venkatesan's book "Win in India, Win Everywhere".
The event concluded with a panel discussion in which the Ambassador and Mrs. Sonali Kulkarni (Founder & CEO FANUC India) joined Mr. Venkatesan in answering the many questions from the interested audience in an open Q&A.
