An idea hackathon challenge to
Make and Innovate with a new India
| When? | April 22-23. |
| Where? | LINK Arkitektur, Lumaparksvägen 7 i Hammarby Sjöstad, Stockholm. |
| Who? | 40 creative innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, makers and students, open for individuals from Sweden and India. |
| What? | Finding answers to problems connected with smart, sustainable cities and villages. A one day challenge to generate new, innovative solutions. The Hackathon will be facilitated by Hannes Sjöblad, Chief Disruptive Officer @ EpiCenter. |
| Why? | Meet other smart people who care, great food, great networking and the opportunity to pitch in front of business leaders. The results and the people behind them will be presented during India Unlimited business seminars May 2-3. The winning team with the best idea will win 6 tickets with Emirates to India. |
Cities are unable to breathe. Villages still do not have access to basic essentials such as water, electricity and housing. Transportation possibilities are limited. People are hungry for change.
[wc_spacing size=”20px”]India is moving forward, and is now planning the creation of 100 new Smart Cities and also Smart Villages. As the government focuses its resources at restructuring and developing healthier environments for the inhabitants, we want to contribute to the designing of Smart Cities and Villages by suggesting how they can be safe, sustainable, smart and inclusive.
[wc_spacing size=”20px”]There are undisputed advantages with being a connected city. Sweden and India are great candidates for sharing experiences and connecting their cities. Through investigating synergy possibilities of Swedish and Indian answers to issues encountered, we could design a future which will be greener, cleaner and last longer.

By bringing together participants with different cultural, and professional backgrounds, we are confident we can approach the problems with valuable, multi-faceted perspectives. The participants are encouraged to ideate in 5 – 6 groups, discuss possible solutions, conceptualize them and give implementation suggestions.
