India is an attractive destination for the global defense industry due to the country’s substantial defense requirements and its stage of development in the domestic defense industry. At the same time the Swedish defense industry, which has continuously evolved many cutting-edge technologies, is a relatively small player compared to the global defense giants. The new Indian government’s recent decisions, such as increased FDI limits in the defense sector and opening up the sector to private players, mean that the timing is perfect for Swedish companies to establish relationships with Indian partners. Together Sweden and India can co-develop and jointly manufacture technologies at more competitive prices for the Indian market and for global export.
The session is moderated by Robin Sukhia, Secretary General of the Sweden India Business Council.

Aditya Kumar Wahi, Defence Attahée Embassy of India to Sweden
