Event Details
Current global urbanisation trends will result in 70% of the population living in cities by 2050, and given the increasing social and environmental challenges, it is imperative that we learn how best to develop, govern and manage integrated and sustainable cities. The new Indian government 2014 launched the initiative to build 100 Smart cities all across India. In 2015 the first Smart cities will be identified and receive funding. Sweden is one of the pioneering countries when it comes to developing Smart cities based on collaboration between private and public actors. Swedish companies offer state-of-the-art solutions for Smart grids, Traffic and Transportation, Air, Waste and Water Management, Information and Communication and Smart Living. India and Sweden have a long history of partnerships in various areas and there is great potential to take this cooperation forward in the field of Smart Cities.
