Sweden and India have a long tradition of cooperation in the field of health. From a cooperation based on development aid, the collaboration has evolved to a more dynamic and mutually beneficial alliance. Sweden has a lot to offer India when it comes to organizing healthcare be it creating a system for healthy mothers and babies, offering universal coverage to its population or care of the elderly. India is also emerging as a hub for cost-effective R & D and clinical trials. Could Indian and Swedish companies collaborate to find solutions in some important areas of Life Science? Will have a focus on non-communicable diseases like Diabetes/ cancer/ cardio-vascular where the focus will be on the business of science.
